Passing Of Motorcycle Hall Of Famer Bob Illingworth

Illingworth, Robert C.

68 years young. Our warm, loving and passionate friend passed peacefully on March 24. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends. His legacy for helping others in many different ways will long survive him. His passion for motorcycles included racing them, selling them and even trucking them to dealers throughout the Midwest. He was the founder and principal lobbyist of the Minnesota Motorcycle Riders Association and contributed in many ways to the growth of the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. In the process he became a highly successful fund raiser for the Children's Care Hospital in Rapid City, SD. His own recovery inspired him to become a drug and alcohol counselor in order to help others also find a better life. After working at both the Missions Treatment Center and Hazelden Foundation, he founded Maple Lake Recovery Center, designed to help adolescents experiencing problems with alcohol and other drug abuse. Out heartfelt thanks to the many angels from Fairview Hospice for their gentle kindness. And as Bob loved say, "Keep moving forward." Memorials may be sent to: Children's Care Hospital & School, 2501 West 26th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105 or online @ www.cchs.org/tribute A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 25th at 1 PM, followed by refreshments at: Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel 952-920-3996 West 50th St. & Hwy 100
