Congresswoman and Fellow Motorcyclist Shot in Arizona

US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot outside a grocery store while conducting a public event with her constituents in North Tucson, Arizona. Giffords was Chair of the United States House of Representatives Motorcycle Safety Caucus. She was a true friend of the motorcyclists of this country and served them well. ABATE of Minnesota and the Motorcycle Riders Foundation are deeply saddened by this loss and wish her  family well in this tragic time. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the other victims of this senseless tragedy.

Star and Tribune Supports ABATE of MN Legislation

The Star and Tribune, Minnesota's largest newspaper, now supports ABATE of MN's increased penalties for careless driving position (see below). Major changes in law take time. ABATE of MN started the discussion on this at an early Bikerday at the Capitol and we have gathered more supporters every year. Keep the pressure on and when it passes in 2011, feel good that it was ABATE of MN who got the ball rolling several years ago.
