Introducing ABATE's Newest Chapter - Welcome Up North Chapter

Two months ago ABATE of Minnesota approved a new chapter in the Grand Rapids area and they have hit the ground running. With over 100 members and strong support in the area the future looks bright for these freedom fighters. If you have family or friends who ride in the Mesabi Iron Range region and surrounding areas, have them contact President Jeff Serich or check the Up North Facebook page.

Help Promote ABATE at Minnesota Vikings Childrens Ride

Jon Stutelberg, Metro Chapter, has promoted ABATE of Minnesota at this event for many years. Jon needs about 15 helpers at the Blue Heron Grill, Hugo, MN at the start of the run by 8:30 am on July 12th for parking lot duty and to work a membership table.

Obama Calls for Helmet Laws

This week President Obama released his ideal version of a transportation bill. The proposal has a specific provision that would allow the federal government to push a mandatory helmet law, the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) reports.

NTSB Chair Steps Down

Deborah Hersman announced that she would be vacating her role as chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Hersman has commanded the board since 2009 and has been a board member since 2004. Hersman was also considered as a replacement for secretary of transportation Ray LaHood when her retired.
