Stop Motorcycle Only Checkpoints Nationwide

Motorcycle only checkpoints in Georgia have been funded by the federal government and there is more grant money available for other states to use. The checkpoints are a waste of our hard earned money; these funds would be better spent on public awareness and crash avoidance. The Motorcycle Riders Foundation is asking all street riders to support S.127 and H.R. 1861

“This bill protects motorcyclists’ rights and promotes crash prevention. Motorcycle only checkpoints profile motorcyclists, using taxpayer money to corral them along the highway and check for infractions that do not cause crashes” said U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, bill sponsor in the US House.

Please contact U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar at 202-224-3244 and U.S. Senator Al Franken at 202-224-5641 and ask them to support S.127.

Please contact your U.S. Representative and ask him/her to support H.R. 1861. If you don’t know who your U.S. Representative is go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

A delegation of A.B.A.T.E. of MN members will travel to Washington D.C. in mid-May to discuss freedom of the road with our elected officials at the federal level. The contacts that you make with these offices will help make our lobbying trip more impactful. We need to help these people understand that we pay attention and we will not go away. Please help support this lobbying effort by making these contacts.

Thank you in advance for your support on this matter,

Todd Riba
