!! Updated !! - Reward Offered in Motorcycle Hit and Run

GAYLORD - Family members are now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the vehicle and driver involved in an Oct. 27 hit-and-run accident near Gaylord. The family of John Byro increased the reward from $3,000 to $5,000 hoping to receive resolution in this case.


On Thursday, Oct.27, at approximately 10 p.m. John Byro, 29, was riding his motorcycle when he collided with an unknown vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 19 and Hwy 5. The driver left the scene.


It is believed the unknown vehicle may be a light-colored passenger vehicle or SUV with damage to the rear or rear bumper.


Byro, who lives in Madelia, remains in critical condition at this time.


He completed two tours of duty in Iraq. His family is grateful that he made it home safely after serving his country, and they have spent time with him since his return.


John is in his third year of college at Metropolitan State University in the Twin Cities. He wishes to continue in public service and is enrolled in the Law Enforcement Program
